Embedded Solution Verses PLC for OEM in Manufacturing Sector

A global industrial OEM of specialized equipment was presented with a problem in their automation of their equipment in highly explosive environments. Due to size constraints and the complexity of their equipment, a normal PLC control system solution was not feasible.

As a complete Control Systems Integration company, Genesys Controls offered an embedded solution for the OEM that more than met their requirements. The engineering staff converted the entire controls system from a PLC based system into a fully functional embedded solution. The solution entailed the creation of new proprietary software as well as a multi layered printed circuit board. The final layout of the enclosure ensured ease of maintenance in the future. With over 280 of these systems in place, the project proved to be a great success for everyone.
